#EkLadkiKoDekhaTohAisaLaga - A fresh, slice of life film with a sensitive storyline.

A so-called taboo subject is very maturely handled, and with so much ease that one would barely even feel its unusual.

All performances are good and the comic moments are well timed.

Overall, a good one-time watch.

Total Dhamaal

#TotalDhamaal - Just the kind of nonsense and brainless entertainment needed after 2 hectic weeks in office! 😬

No, I am not saying its good; neither am I saying its bad; it does have its moments with some good punches and one-liners.

All characters are silly and unreal but the overall presentation is quite okay.

#MadhuriDixit is just so at ease and looks amazing. #AnilKapoor is getting younger by the day. #AjayDevgan ,#RiteishDeshmukh , #ArshadWarsi, #JavedJaffrey , #SanjayMishra , #BomanIrani and so on - all possible comical ingredients are thrown in.

Overall quite alright.

Fanney Khan

#FanneyKhan - Fann (hai toh you) Can! Thats basically the gist of the film. Dream big and don’t let dreams die.

Its a simple feel good story about a father and his dreams for his kid.

That said, the plot lacks much depth and newness. Everything is pretty much meh although it tries to touch upon a range of topics from dreams to reality (read poverty) and glamour (and casting couch) to body shaming.

Anil Kapoor does well and for a change looks his age. Divya Dutta is good and so is Rajkumar Rao although both have much higher potential. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan looks good and supports well. Girish Kulkarni is a misfit and looks kinda creepy! Loved Monali Thakur’s singing.

Overall, not too bad to watch on #AmazonPrime.

Vroooooom....Dhishooom.....

#Race3 - Vroom dhishoom vroom dhishoom vroom dhishoom 🏎👊🏼....thats about it!

The “plot” seems like a whiteboard version where all possible “twists” were outlined and the director threw them all in just in case! The dialogues are cheesy with lines like “our business is our business; none of your business” and “usey dil nahi dell khol ke dikhao”. To add to the nonsense is sudden bombardment of Bhojpuri!

At some point you feel its a tussle between Muscular Oldies (Sallu and Bobby) vs Washed out newbies (Saqib and Daisy).

Anil Kapoor is so-so; Sallu looks flabby and lethargic; surprisingly Bobby looks fitter than Sallu; rest of them are just there.

Songs are pathetic and Sallu seems to be forced to move his body, forget about signature steps!

Often you are left feeling “mere Abbas Mastan ayenge..” but alas! You have to make do with Remo D’Souza and his disastrous effort.

It was a Race to fall asleep in the theater and I’m damn sure I must have made it to the top 3.

"Welcome"...No Thanks!!

When you have such a strong cast, you also have lot of expectations from the film. ‘Welcome’ does not live up to the expectations at all!

It is a “so-so” film, okay to watch on cable, but definitely not worth spending money in the theater. There is nothing new to it; it is another example of good actors coming together and not being able to create anything special! The story is very predictable, and is a kind of patchwork from various films. For example, Nana Patekar’s character Uday Shetty is a cross between Shankar from Major Saab (a don, who is a loving brother), and Aslam Bhai from Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega (LKLKBK)(a don with a strong passion for acting). He is a goofy goon, as portrayed by various actors in innumerable films; Sanjay Dutt in Hum Kisi Se Kum Nahi (2002), Johnny Lever in LKLKBK (2001), to name a few. Nana Patekar is his usual self, with nothing new to offer as such. Anil Kapoor is another don, named Majnu Bhai, a close associate of Uday Shetty. He has done a pretty good job with his role, and definitely adds on to the value of the film. One can easily notice that Majnu Bhai’s character takes a variety of traits from Circuit of the Munnabhai series, Crime Master Gogo of Andaz Apna Apna, and other similar "comic sidekicks". Paresh Rawal is decent as Dr. Ghungroo, but his acting is repetitive from so many of his other movies. Even though Akshay Kumar is the hero, he is often sidelined by the dons, and we don’t get to see much of his impeccable comic timing. Feroz Khan is ok as the “Godfather” of the dons. The heroines (Katrina Kaif and Mallika Sherawat) seem to exist merely to add oomph value.

The film drags all along until the climax, which is pretty much the only enjoyable part. The dialogues are not great..or rather, they are quite “ghise peete”. Songs are okay, but often seem forcefully inserted into the script in places where no song is needed! All in all, a forgettable movie.

It definitely did not seem like a “Welcome” change from the norm!
