Bhai ka Bharat

#Bharat - Lets just say this is something that only #SalmanKhan could have pulled off.

Lots of things don’t make any sense and yet are enough to make you stick around till the end. The “story” is a mashup of all kinds of storyboard ideas that must have floated around in the creative team’s office - they just threw it all in! The result is this superhuman named #Bharat - a jack of all trades and a master of them all and much more. 😉

#Bhai is a subdued version of his usual self with minimal #chichorapan and crass humour. #KatrinaKaif is cute. #SunilGrover, #SonaliKulkarni support well; #KumudMishra is wasted; #JackieShroff could give #Tiger a run for his money in looking young. 😝 Rest of the cast is picked from various webseries’ and is passable.

Loved the #Zinda song. #Hinglish lyrics with nonsensical rhymes like emotion-slow motion are just irritating!

Overall, must say though that this one is much better than last year’s Eid debacle called #Race3.

Vroooooom....Dhishooom.....

#Race3 - Vroom dhishoom vroom dhishoom vroom dhishoom 🏎👊🏼....thats about it!

The “plot” seems like a whiteboard version where all possible “twists” were outlined and the director threw them all in just in case! The dialogues are cheesy with lines like “our business is our business; none of your business” and “usey dil nahi dell khol ke dikhao”. To add to the nonsense is sudden bombardment of Bhojpuri!

At some point you feel its a tussle between Muscular Oldies (Sallu and Bobby) vs Washed out newbies (Saqib and Daisy).

Anil Kapoor is so-so; Sallu looks flabby and lethargic; surprisingly Bobby looks fitter than Sallu; rest of them are just there.

Songs are pathetic and Sallu seems to be forced to move his body, forget about signature steps!

Often you are left feeling “mere Abbas Mastan ayenge..” but alas! You have to make do with Remo D’Souza and his disastrous effort.

It was a Race to fall asleep in the theater and I’m damn sure I must have made it to the top 3.

Bhaijaan's Eid release failed to shine this time!

Story is okayish but quite boring. Signature Sallu-giri is totally missing. Sohail Khan looks too chubby to be even considered fit for the army. Om Puri seems to have carried forward his character from Bajrangi Bhaijaan.

Sorry Kabir Khan but your repetition of Sallu + cute kid formula just does not work this time.

Barely 2.5 ⭐️ from me. 0.5 for the cute kid Matin

The Eid King ;-)

Is it just me or has Salman "bro" transformed into a docile version of his earlier self? With ‪#‎Sultan‬, he seems to have completely given up on his nonsensical, tad cheap, mannerisms and comedy! Has the era of a matured bhaijaan finally dawned?

That said, its a decent one-time watch movie. Lot of muscle and masala with standard set of ingredients - romance, action, milna, bichadna so on and so forth! And of course ek signature dance step to banta hi hai! The theme song is catchy.  

All in all 3/5. Personally, I enjoyed Bajrangi Bhaijaan, with all its melodrama, more than this one!  

Pain Ratan Dhan Payo!

Prem Ratan Dhan Payo - Extremely disappointing for a Rajshri loyalist like me. It lacks the usual goody goody stuff & sanskaars and most importantly a story line!

In the first 10 minutes, the entire "plot", including the "twists", becomes so obvious that the 3 hour "musical" seems to last forever. And by the way, music seems "inspired" from total disasters like "Haan Maine Bhi Pyar Kiya". 

Some good talent like Anupam Kher and Swara Bhaskar is totally wasted in the supporting cast. Also, Neil Nitin Mukesh can do better than such bad/minuscule/passable roles.  

Go and watch it only if you are a die-hard Salman fan and have "loved" even the likes of Yuvraaj, Tere Naam and Yeh Hai Jalwa!

Looks like good old Babuji (Alok Nath) was smart enough not to get involved in this disastrous fairy tale!
